Let's laugh at the new Pokemon game

Apparently it's the most fun Pokémon game in a while format wise. They really need to just get some third party developer on board to work with gamefreak. Lots of people bringing up Monolith Soft as an alternative due to their switch open world titles.

Wow this game performs poorly. I feel fortunate I haven't had a crash or any bugs yet. It's my first Pokemon game since like, gen 6.

I'm surprisingly okay with the characters after all the shit I heard about their designs, I actually like the gym leaders a lot and there's cute girls. They should tone it down from now on though with the wild ass hair colors and skin tones.

I have mixed feelings on the character design myself. I like the gym leaders, and besides some examples in this thread I cant really speak for the other trainers so I have no opinion on it.

My main issue is with the player characters, their whole design feels really bland specially compared to the previous iterations.

I've been messing around with it via emulator. I've only had a few visual bugs, weird view distance choices, and unstable fps.

The character designs are all over the place. Some are clearly designed for sex appeal while others are just gross looking. Then you have a one off character that looks like they're from Astro Boy. The art direction is completely fucked when you realize this is supposed to be Spain.

Now the player is another weird one. The base model is boring as hell, but you have a surprising amount of choices for customization. I was able to get mine to look somewhere between cute and sexy. Although there's this weird, almost uncanny look to the characters.

My main issue right now has nothing to do with the game. All of my controllers have drift now, so once I fix that I'll probably enjoy the game more.

Except for arguably the most important customization of your clothing. I'd rather have a default face and be able to customize everything else like in Sword.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that, being stuck in a uniform was clearly a way for them to phase out the clothing options.
