What I really want to know is what sparked this. The fact that not even non-loli nsfw can't be posted paints the picture of "virtue signalers posted cp to varis then reported themselves to the host but since they used a vpn/live in a country that don't care about cp only Halo got in trouble".

Additionally they're going attack again, they probably didn't know they were repeatedly being catalogued for being retards so they might pull the same shit that happened to kiwi. If my assumption about the illegal posting is correct I'd purge any new/inactive+minus genuine-post-history-accounts and lock down new signups.

agreed. as much as I hate to say it, it's prob for the best to keep NSFW banned for the time being. It's just another attack vector. there are plenty of places everyone can still horny and cunny post. so until we can gain the funds to set up proper defences against attacks we need to protect this place and the work people do here as the top priority

until the hosting's moved to something bulletproof presumably. that said, good luck with verification emails from such hosts, unless you're using a 3rd party service to handle outgoing stuff, since those nearly always get blocked by major providers (due to excess of spambots using the same hostnames).

could just enforce account verification through IRC or something though, because normies don't know how to use it (Discord is more modern but also nicer to normies so yeah). the only ones who know how to use an IRC client and are antis are the boomers-turned-woke-to-stay-relevant-on-Twitter crowd i.e. Jul/TCRF and Sonic Retro kind of people, and even those have near-exclusively migrated to Discord too, so in such a case running an IRC channel would actually be a pretty reasonable way to gatekeep retards from registering an account, particularly from iOS devices*.

* there isn't a single free IRC client on iOS, and iOS users never contribute anything good anyways. Apple, ChromeOS and Android devices could probably be completely blocked from browsing and/or registering to this site. the harder it's made for idiots who won't post anything of use to sign up, the better.

99% of normies have no idea how to configure an IRC client, however. probably they don't know what IRC is other than "that old thing that Discord was inspired by", so that's definitely a good thing.
