Today marks the re-release of the cult classic action game Lollipop Chainsaw for Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.​

Lead game designer Yoshimi Yasuda put out a message to commemorate the launch of RePOP (archive here):

We have finally been able to release LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP uncensored.

I am proud that we have been able to revive LOLLIPOP　CHAINSAW, a cult game that had been lying dormant　due to copyright issues, as a modern action game.

The core content of RePOP is an original mode that faithfully recreates the original version's scenario, script, gore expressions, cutscene direction, character design, motion, comic-style character introduction images, costumes, achievements, etc.

On the other hand, for those game users who are not so　keen on gore, we have also prepared the RePOP mode,　which expresses damage effects in a pop art style, so we　hope you will give LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP a try.　

Considering how rare it is to get an uncensored fanservice game in this day and age (according to everything we've seen thus far, but that can always change), I'll be putting money down to show my support.

Seashell Outfit

Judging by the videos and online posts. It seems like it is uncensored and also there were people trying to spread misinformation by saying the Comic Style Intro's were gone and Yasuda was a liar. But everyone proved that to be incorrect. I bought my own copy and will be playing it later on within the week and I am still showing my support for a rare game like this. Just glad to see no Denuvo, a really spicy uncensored costume for Juliet being promised soon by Yasuda. Absolutely great marketing campaign on his end to stay true to his vision. Also I did look into the Steam Charts

9th place on the Global Steam Sales Charts. Still remarkable considering what it's up against. This is a good game to buy and to support. Especially if you believe in non censorship, or like No More Heroes style games that are just nice fun and short experiences with replay ability in mind.

Could it just be a matter of physics being tied to frames and the remake having a higher framerate? That's lead to wonky port physics in other games before.

This is some fun information it took the game about 2 minutes to beat concord in player numbers and sales on steam.

No I can confirm he is wrong. It's Physics tied to the FPS. As some brave users on 4ch posted and I can see on my screen on Steam.

This is 60fps

120fps.

Notice how the 120fps version the boob physics are there but it does not move as much. That is because the FPS is much quicker causing the physics to not slow down much at all. I also find it strange that he is also using an emulator for the game as a comparison when Emulators can have issues even with 60fps patches as seen with

Where this is a day one 60fps patch for SMT V and runs into stutter issues again messing with FPS and thus messing with Physics. Which took awhile for the Emulators to make sure the performance had no issues or stutters over the months. It's the only downside to Emulation really. It takes time to make sure the games can emulate accurately as a whole, vs a PC port that straight up just works as it was intended to.

This also reminds me of another time this false controversy happened as noted on 4chan post earlier today.

This is very Deja Vu because this happened before where everyone posted a clip on how each version is the same with one slightly being off and everyone calling censorship and it was a Framerate error much like @RaptorJesus mentions. This also funny enough does happen in Koei Tecmo games as noted with Ninja Gaiden with WhatCookie going over RPCS3 Emulation

Mangalawyer needs to be taken with the most gigantic grain of salt, he never really does his research and just screams censorship when shown something and reacts over things without thinking anything through. Besides would Dragami Studio independent of everything else, desire to truly censor the game? Not at all. But some people like to use that to their advantage without really thinking anything through like with Warriors Orochi 4 and now Lollipop Chainsaw will be added to this list now for Fake Ragebait clicks because some decided to scream the sky was falling due to someone sending a fake video than research if the sky was falling. We live in an age were people can make up stuff or send misninfo. Research matters, using logic matters, ask Questions, open up dialogue have a discussion about the details first before crying about Censorship and accusing everyone who is saying and proving it's not by saying they are woke because they proved them wrong. Mangalawyer does none of the above and makes people like us look bad.

I remember seeing this game pop up on online discussion from time to time on forums i used to lurk on back in the day, i've been curious bout te game for a while but after learning that james gunn a huge tds cuck who runs dc movies tese days wrote the game yeah lol nooo but the remake as far as i am aware doesnt have him on it so looks like te remake seems to be the more preferable option out of the 2 considering the lack of tds and censorship it has there so maybe one day i'll get it.

Clamshell outfit. There is Extra Physics than her normal outfit in the game which is still remarkable because even her normal outfit has amazing Physics. So much for things being "toned down" lol.

Also some Peach Milky Cosplay Photos and a Video of her as Juliet. She played Lollipop Chainsaw REpop before everyone else. Really Dazzling work.

Everything I'm seeing is that it runs like garbage. There's a mountain of bugs, broken or stuttering animations, and QTEs are set to auto complete by default. There's something wrong with the cutscenes too. These problems persist on both versions.

I really wish they would stop remaking games and people would stop buying garbage remakes.

The gaming community is starving from lack of sexy characters. So this is probably welcome even if there are a bugs. The best we can hope for is that it will show the developers what types games sell. And that we get more games in the future that have good looking sexy characters. So because of that I hope it dose well. But I'm not sure this is for me. Might torrent it some day.

More than likely what happened was that they either had to get it out late September and have it with far less issues and be lost in the shuffle of announcements come TGS along with High Profile releases or release it early and call for a patch. Which is what is happening here. Yasuda did mention a patch is on the way and a special outfit for all versions.

I really wish they would stop remaking games and people would stop buying garbage remakes.

I will buy them if they are patched. Lead guy did say it would have a day 1 patch coming. Although i think he underestimated the time it would take.

You really think all studios are the same? Most of the issues lie with companies being within bigger companies who take DEI money. Dragami is independent and the fact they are taking a risk is commendable. But yet you decide to be blinded by anger about games being censored and you also say to let it collapse when a studio is small and is doing what you would like and is doing the best they can while being small.

It's the price of AA games nowadays thanks to Sony moving game prices up to 70$. As for RePOP mode That's for Japan because they have a rating system that tilts against gore and would have been CERO'd as 18+

The fact RE2R had to be toned down says a lot about how awful CERO is and how Dragami made a fun way to deal with the violent sections. If you wish to blame anyone blame CERO. Veteran directors hate CERO for the same reasons you do.

See this mentality is why no good games exist anymore. Because everyone purity spirals and has lost the plot in terms of what they are truly fighting for. I bought it because I support fanservice, I support games that are actually fun to play and not censored. The fact the original exist and it even will have new clothes coming in and a patch is not a bad thing considering how small the studio is is great news to me it's only slightly different in terms of RePOP mode. I understand if someone will not buy it because it has these issues right now of bugs, or it's not priced right and will wait for a sale.

But the fact people choose to have this narrative that this was for modern audiences is very narrow set of thinking and is only going to damage the industry long term because it will not allow new small or AA companies to grow in the space due to everyone getting mad over everything, or find small problems make a huge issue out of it and then it dies, then people wonder why there is no games that exist like it creating a cycle of purity spiraling that can ruin games much like the inverse does already by saying games are too sexy. Besides if Original mode did not exist I would be in agreement. This would be true, if CERO itself wasn't already committed to activists. Because RePop mode not only censors gore, but the gore and lewd parts of the game and, in addition, removes part of the HQ/comic art style. CERO used to not censor sexual content, but now it does.

Spare me, it's clear as day, this liar advertised that the game would be "uncensored" as an excuse to make a remaster that only has a censored mode and less artistic style, to be able to sell to the "modern audience".
