Interesting. So it's a platform issue and not a censorship issue. This makes logical sense to me as the Physics thing seemed odd due to me not experiencing it on Steam and the Comic Book Intro's exist on it. But I guess for Consoles it did not show correctly compared to Steam and it was an error that needed to be fixed. I am glad there is transparency about what happened and it was a misunderstanding on all ends it looks like. I hope he can show videos and keep up with the updates soon.

I think some people owe Mangalawyer an apology after this statement. Was he right to call it censorship? No. But he was correct that the physics were different.
In all fairness I think everyone needs to apologize to each other. This ended up being a gigantic misunderstanding on all ends. First the calls for censorship where false, it was just coding error of porting something to a brand new engine which people were right about, including myself pointing at Ninja Gaiden as an example of where this happened or Warriors Orochi(funny enough both Koei Tecmo titles and how Japan does have bad debugging when it comes to things) and it is being fixed. Second the assumption that the Physics were different, which Mangalawyer was correct about.

Main issue I think comes down to a lack of communication and that the tendency to call for Censorship when there is open dialogue with the main developer who is willing to talk things out is not a good look. It's understandable if it's Capcom, Nintendo, or any big corporate thing. But to someone like me when it comes to AA or Indies, it's their livelihood and we need to discuss things and call out to them, send an email and see what happens, and talk before we pull the censorship card. Otherwise we might be harming ourselves as a whole and having to circle back to this every single time cutting ourselves further.

Yoshimi Yasuda announced in Japanese that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP sold over 100,000 units worldwide in its first week of sale (archive)!

We are pleased to announce that the total worldwide sales of "Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP" has exceeded 100,000 units in the first week since its release on Thursday, September 12th!!! #LOLLIOPCHAINSAW #RePOP
Absolutely great news! The fact it's a Remaster and it sold 100k easily means we will be getting a sequel or another game by Dragami. I can not wait to see what will happen when Regional Pricing kicks in Mid-October for everyone to see if it can hit 200k or even more.

Big New Content is in the works followed by outfits. Here is hoping for a Chainsaw Man Collaboration!

Also I should update that the Regional Pricing has went into effect and more regions will be coming. Most if not all issues have been fixed in regards to bugs and errors everyone had with the game on launch. Coming soon on PC are Manual Graphics Options, Ultrawide Monitor Setup and more Optimizations for Steam Deck will coming soon as well as the Switch. Also Japanese VA as an Option if I am not mistaken will be added to the game. It seems like it's almost finished for the year.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP for PS4, Xbox One launches December 2 alongside free ‘Pin-Up Outfit’ update

It also notes it will be in all versions of the game and there is Early Purchase rewards for those who are buying early for Xbox One and PS4 on December 2nd. Which will be announced later on(most likely will be available free for those of us who already purchased the game and the Big Content update). It runs at 1080p 30fps. This is great news for those who are still on the previous generation of Consoles.

I am very glad this game succeeded. Also I forgot to mention the Regional Pricing has already taken effect. LatAm(Brazil, Mexico, Chile), SEA(Philippines, Indonesia), E.Asia, E. Europe and more should see the price differences now on Steam.

From the game's November 2024 update (archive doesn't work properly):

Japanese Voice Acting

We have heard requests for the option to use the Japanese voice options with English subtitles. While it would have been easy to just add this as an option, as a matter of fact, some of the dialogue in the Japanese version is completely different from the English version. This is because some of the English dialogue would have been difficult for Japanese players to understand. As such, we have decided to implement accurate English subtitles for the Japanese dialogue, to keep it accurate to what is actually being said in Japanese. You might be surprised at the differences!

Dragami Games, I fucking kneel, holy shit.

How often do you ever even see THAT? We need trendsetters like this.
One of the few other times when I saw this was when wayforward ported Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka (or as they call it "river city girls zero") And offered an option for localized translation or a more accurate and faithful one. And a bunch of people on twitter and the like had a bitchfit meltdown over that because it does not fit with the localization agenda.

So English is going to be in line with the Japanese script and we are also getting the option for SUB. That is amazing! I really like the effort by Dragami. Definitely buying the Soundtracks on Steam to show my support!
