Marvelous, the company who still owns Senran Kagura, Valkyrie Drive and other I.P.s we all hope will be bought by someone who actually likes them, announced they'll be replacing Sato Suminobu as C.E.O. with executive director Shinichi Terui. Two unnamed executive directors will also be receiving pay cuts in February and March, 2025.
These moves are in response to their 2025 earnings report (PDF link) showing a 4.8% decline in sales, and a further 12.4% drop in profits, compared to the same period in 2024. For anyone following Marvelous since Kenichiro Takaki quit, this is hardly surprising; the company has been losing money since at least 2022, and they've made no positive changes to rectify the problem.
