What's your favorite Mecha anime?

I've been binging pretty much nothing for Gundam for the last year or so, off and on and such. As much fun as I am doing that, the most recent one I finished being Victory Gundam, I'm starting to feel a bit of fatigue from watching pretty much only Gundam. So, what Mecha Animes have you watched that were your favorites? And what other ones would you just generally recommend?

Despite the intro to this, I'd say Gurren Lagann really has to be my favorite in general, even if that's probably not a particularly special answer. Watching Simon grow from a scared wimp to the hero of the universe one small setback at a time is an incredibly satisfying journey to watch, and the final battle with the Anti-spirals culminating into every past iteration of Gurren Lagann matching it's strike and failing against the Anti-spiral's drill until base Gurren Lagann breaks through is a really good culmination of every step leading up to it that always brings chills to my spine.

Zeta Gundam is probably my favorite of the Gundam shows. Kamille is cool, I like the Titans as a villain even if some of them are almost cartoonishly evil, and the Argama cast has a nice blend of characters continuing plot lines from MSG with new characters that connect to the setting as it's changed. It helps that Kamille unlike some Gundam protagonists is both more then willing to fight from the start and given many early incentives to hate the Titans, making him eager to push the plot forward unlike Uso or Loran in some of the other shows from that period (Not that I hate them, it's just annoying when the character takes so long to really heed the call to action).

Two of my recent favs would be SSSS.Gridman and Dynazeon. They were quite enjoyable and are different enough from the constant mecha in space trope.

An overlooked show which is somewhat Mecha is Planet With. I can highly recommend it!
According to the theories of oneiromancy, dreams of dragons represent the struggle of losing yourself to your own anger. Fittingly, Souya Kuroi wakes up from a nightmare of a massive dragon destroying everything around him in a blaze of rainbow colored light. After being told that he lost his parents and memory in a strange accident, the waking world becomes another nightmare in itself. With this dream being his only memory, he has no choice but to be taken care of by his two strange guardians: the spunky and energetic maid Ginko, and a huge cat known only as "Sensei."

His new life is turned upside down when the denizens of Saromisaka City are beset by a teddy bear-shaped UFO. When military power proves to be ineffective, seven mysterious people rise up to fight off the monstrosity. These heroes destroy the invader in a flurry of rainbow colored lights, the very same lights that Souya saw in his nightmare.

With the alien threat repelled, these seven strangers find themselves facing a new adversary: Souya. Swearing vengeance upon the people who decimated his old life, he begins his crusade against these "heroes" and becomes embroiled in a struggle of galactic proportions.

And to name a bit if a B-Tier one I would recommend iM@S Xenoglossia. No idea who though "lets combine iM@S and mecha" but someone did.

If I had a quarter for every mecha spin off to a non mecha waifu centric franchise I've heard of, I'd have two quarters. It's not a lot but it's still strange it's happened twice. On that note I keep seeing Muv-Luv Alternative kits at the one hobby store a city over and I'm almost tempted to read that/buy kits from it.

Anyways I'll keep those suggestions in mind, the last two in particular have peaked my interest in flavors of weirdness if nothing else.
