When the anime adaptation is different from the original source (and viceversa)

I want to make a thread about this interesting theme, honestly I wasn't sure if putting it here or putting it on censorship, because this topic can be considered as a 50/50.

Why am I making this thread?

Recently I was looking to an anime trailer (Mobu kara hajimaru tansaku eiyūtan) and noticed about this:

One of the main characters looks different that how she looks in the original version (manga), being a loli in the anime, while in the manga she looks like a grown girl:

Which is curious, because loli can be considered better depending who you ask to. Which one do you prefer? I pref the manga version.

I also want to mention how the Akame ga kill! and Sousei no Onmyouji mangas.

AGK: In some point, the story gets VERY different (at 4 Rakshasa demons arc), and also there is an extended arc for Shura, Wild Hunt (Shura's posse), Tatsumi's tranformation is different, characters that survive in the anime die in the manga, different endings for the characters, etc...

SNO: As far as I know, the servant fox (Kinako appears at the chapter 36 in the manga version, where his first apparition (and I mean the first of all ones) was in the 1st anime chapter, his counterparts' personalities in both contents are differents between the other, also, SNO has a very different story to tell in the manga, while Rokuro tries to assume the responsability to save the world with a more mature philosophy in the anime, in the manga he takes a childish more childish (like Luffy as far as I know), I need to read it, so if you can correct me about this I would like to read you all.

Any thoughts about those cases? Any other case you want to share? Any recent one? Feel free to share it here!

Sometimes I like the anime adaptation better than the original manga, Elfen Lied and Full Moon wo Sagashite for example. Though in those cases it's because the anime was made before the manga was finished so they didn't have an ending to adapt, I dunno how I feel about an adaptation that is different from the very beginning.
