Siliconera is pretty bad, i used to be a huge fan of theirs and visit the site frequently but that political stunt a few years back rubbed me the wrong way and i never went back again. Lesson to any sites out there, do not put politics or anything like that unless it truly effects the gaming industry as a whole.
I do find it funny there is an admission that the Subs are accurate, but the dubs are not. It's to "punch up"(Insert their own idealogy) because everyone knows Subs make more money and they know people will get angry if they do, and so they decide to do it with Dubs and extract money from Japan on the side. Insiders have always noted that people who watch dub's are getting scammed due to the low quality voice work and it not being accurate to the Subs. I do remember even reading someone who watched a dub and thought the anime was awful, but then they read the sub with Japanese voices and the accurate script, it was night and day difference.
I will just say if people wish to have Dubs on par with Subs they would need to demand the quality of the work be accurate to the subs and also hiring VA's that do not sound generic or off from their own roles. It's kind of why i liked Sound Cadence originally when it came to Black Rock Shooter because for once it had Asian females from various countries, Thailand, China, Korea and even a Japanese role doing all the dubs in English and it sounded good for once where it actually sounded similar to the Japanese counterparts, rather than a loli that sounds like a 34 year old witch from the West. Dubs could always be that high of quality and near subs but they choose not to.
Presumably by a fat goblin making calls behind the scenes trying to maintain the "respect" of their profession.
I think the producers of Japan are mad about it and told them to take it down and are going to have a talk with them over this. I would like to see what happens next.
I don't think Japan even knows what is going on with localization. The information they get is tightly controlled by bilingual westerners who all have an agenda.

One is referencing Smokey Bear and the "Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires" slogan, and the other I can't tell if it's a Donald Trump MAGA reference or not. Sorry for the blown out images, Windows Screen Snipper cannot handle HDR sources well.
I'm still trying to search for the "So that happened..." line, but I've managed to find these quest line names, and a few others, alongside the "Are you ready for ghost-bustin?" line that was actually just "行こう、イド" (Let's go, Id!).
The text for the forest flyers quest is actually 森に潜む危機 (Crisis Lurking in the Forest), and the make our skies safe again is 空の安全にご協力を！(Help us keep the skies safe!). There's some other quest-lines which have meanings quite different from the Japanese text. A retranslation patch might be quite a bit of work.
I need some more examples. Can people hunt down other differences or cringe whedonisms in the game, so I can make those more in-line with the JP text?
I wonder if maybe we can buy someone the game and they can go through the text for us.

They make their games for Playstation though, which means following their censorship policy. Also "global" niche market is a red flag. They should make their games for the Japanese niche market, which is what people who like Japanese media outside of Japan like to play.

I agree with Narmy, the thing is they are kind of stuck with Sony due to it's retroactive policies in which when they release a game on there, and it goes to other platforms, the censorship moves across as well. I even liked how they mentioned to pursue multiplatform day 1, which to me is essential. For someone like myself and many others, i have a Switch and a midrange PC to play games on and i am not playing my games on Sony's platform due to the censorship policies, and funding them would enable it to keep happening. But to change the way they make games for overseas is kind of foolish. We buy these games because they are culturally Japanese, they are for Japanese market first, Asia 2nd and the West last(much Like A Dragon was until they went all in).This part in the recent Compile Heart interview does not give me hope:

I do not mind if they can take our criticisms to improve gameplay or add features, but taking anything people say here in regards to storyline, character writing and even art itself is just really not that bright and is concerning. But i do think this is a result of Playstation and assume that is what they mean until they prove otherwise or expand on the statement specifically. It might be why they are aging up the Neptunia characters and we do not see them in their lolli forms whatsoever lately.
Compile Heart caved and castrated themselves a long time ago right after sony california. Killed off all of their ecchi series' or outright removing echhi and/or censoring new games released after. Its one of the most well documented (online) companies censoring themselves. Just google any series/game released after and theres info of them being censored. Not sure how this is news to anyone who followed them from their glory days tbh. They have been snoys for the past few years as their relevance dwindled and now the only "news" is that they are following the "multiplatform" strategy to keep themselves afloat. Ironically this same company once said that they would rather not release games overseas if they have to censor (look it up its on the internets). Does it matter if they are "multiplatform" now? No because they will self censor regardless.
On the topic of localization, IFI (the western branch) used to release videos on their youtube channel with hosts (dunno if they still do that) and the hosts in those videos would regularly comment on "weird, creepy, eww" fanservice stuff. Imagine doing shit like this while working for fucking Compile Heart, oh wait this shit is so commonplace now that its not surprising anymore..........

I think the main problem overall is more complicated than that. Compile Heart has also run into issues putting fanservice games on Steam. Because Steam is also weird on it's approval process that it's a coin flip on what get's approved overall. Let me give an example. With Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates this was published with Sony, but they move it to Steam, Steam does not approve of it because of it's loli characters(despite the fact that other games have loli characters) EastAsiaSoft grabs the license and publishes it on Switch's Eshop and allows physical copies to be distributed. This has been the same for Moero Crystal H, despite Moero Chronicle being approved for Steam.
If Steam was not so weird on the approval process i think Compile Heart and IFI would be going into this direction pretty easily, i mean Japanese users are 20 million on Steam, Anime fans are basically another 10-15 million on top of it. They now have to figure out a way to keep fanservice in, while also not trying to be denied on Steam and getting away from Sony, both that i do not think they can do because they rely on money and need to release everywhere. It's very confusing to think about. Sony retroactively censors so other platforms receive it, but also Steam is so weird on it's approvals because there is some Trans type that hates men and most likely has it for Anime and Lolli characters as a whole. I can not help but to sympathize with them on this because it's the worst of both worlds for fanservice. I wish there was an easier solution and that the industry stopped being fanservice negative about anything and everything, even in regards to fictional characters that society thinks are real.
EDIT: Now that i think about it, the same thing happened with Dungeon Travelers 2-2 and 2-2 EX for Aquaplus despite Dungeon Travelers 1 being on PC.
