I think her (and many others') argument is that if they are altering """problematic""" dialogue, it's an order from the higher-ups or something along those lines. That they are not doing this because they want to but because the people hiring them want their game to be toned down for the west as to not offend everyone and therefore sell better. And while that may be true for some cases, it's definitely not the case all the time. Too many instances of a localizer boasting about "fixing problematic stuff", glad that "they have the power to change it".

like that last one is a self-report "Fed up with me being a Loud Woman all the time", maybe everyone was just sick of your fucken shit

but on the overall topic again. if these people did their fucken jobs right and did not act like an embarrassment on Twitter 24/7 maybe companies would be more inclined to attach their names to the product. I don't think this has ever crossed their small pea-sized minds

I'm wondering if something actually has scared her. She's deleted a bunch of recent tweets, even behind the priv they show the "this tweet has been deleted" message. This includes the this tweet, the persona wokalizer tweet, the "translation is not for you" tweet, among others. I'm sure she's deleted tweets before, but most of the times I've seen over the past few years she's really stuck to her guns and was content just hiding behind blockparty.

I'm probably reading too much into it, but I can at least hope for a little good news.

edit: Does anyone know if she ever put Inukai in her list of published works? It's not there ATM (archive) but I don't know if she just never updated the list or what. I do recall her talking about that utapri movie recently, though. Don't have that tweet in my history though.

From what I remember HIDIVE is a semi decent anime company prior to her arrival, it was considered the most accurate localized official sub iirc(Not 100% on this). So my guess is someone got mad at her provoking the audience.
 
I'm trying hard to not get too hopeful about them canning her or anything, she still lists sentai in her bio, which was edited sometime today to mention the priv) but I've been going through every katrina tweet in my history and every single recent one talking about translation choices regarding inukai or discussing translation directly or talking about the drama have been deleted. I have never seen katrina do this before, even the koisuru defending tweets live months later.

I don't want to be too optimistic, but it is also hard to avoid when this is such an anomaly in all the time I've followed her antics.

It's actually a play on Steiner. But instesd of using stein I use the first three letters of my second name.

The origin is actually call of duty.

Childhood friends kept calling me Steiner after a black ops character.

But I was illiterate as a child and used Sty instead of Stein.

Would be worth checking in on that dog anime on HIDIVE in about a week to see if the subs changed and if future episodes are like that in order to verify that hypothesis
 
I have no reason to not keep pirating subbed anime these days. Congrats, Katrina, you and your kind for making "legal" dubbed anime less and less popular.
