She is definitely not cut out for more important work like translating documents. Gauging someone's Japanese ability with the JLPT isn't really all too reliable, of course you should be at least N1 but that doesn't even necessarily mean you're fluent. There's also a huge difference between translating simple shit like anime/games and business level Japanese like documents, and considering she can't even do the former right...Katrina has an N1 JLPT and would have the qualifications to work in a much higher paying industry like translating important documents but she chooses to work in the anime/manga translation industry. Imagine having so much disdain and hatred for japanese cartoons, comics and video games that you will be happy to work in a job with a low pay solely so you can butcher and ruin translations. This is a 30-something-year old woman who chose this. It's so hard for me to wrap my head around this.
And when I say can't do it right I don't even necessarily mean inserting meme shit or "spicing up" the dialogue, I mean straight up misunderstanding the Japanese. Plus she has this huge ego that prevents her from ever improving.
