Going to pull this thread up from last year.
With 2023 being quite the year of ups and down in a post COVID, I believe it is only natural to hope for 2024 to be "My year"™.
Do you have any resolutions?
Did you make good on last years?
Do you have any noteworthy accomplishments from last year you want to share?
As for me (I already did give an updated in the other thread):
Point two is one of the bigger goals I have this year. I'm still eyeing the GBA since I just love it as a platform, but until now I just never had the time or motivation. I keep having ideas, but am bound by my current knowledge and abilities (I can't draw or 3D model for shit. And don't get me started on composing).
Point three was on hold, but work on it will continue soon. I might post it in case it reaches "gold". The first goal is to get a working version and the second is to sell kits for it.
- The channel is doing well enough (still not telling the name) and I managed to pass 200+ subs by the end of the year. With some momentum I might reach monetization this year, which would help with the cost of it.
- I don't even remember what it was to be honest. But funny enough I managed to tear my "plantar aponeurosis" and have been dealing with that for a while now. I hope I can get that in check this year.
Other than that I have:
- Plans to make a link shortener which falls under a suit of sites I wanted to work on for a while. I just dislike how most have become synonymous with scams and fraud e.g. tinyurl or bit.ly are rarely trusted by people I communicate with.
- Added to gamedev I was really interested in making some kind of cheap mo-cap solution. The plan is to use a gyro for e.g. the head, a camera and openVC for eye + mouth tracking and GoDot for using the data to move a 3D model. I tried it out last year, but didn't get far.
That's about it. This year I'm really gunning for getting back into a dev groove which hopefully leads me somewhere.
So what about the rest of you?

As for me (I already did give an updated in the other thread):
I've now been working on this job for a while and it's the first job I had were I felt "at home". It's still not the perfect job, but closer than anything before. Starting next month I might even be able to go down to working 80%, which will be a great help and something I wanted for a while now (since I can't stand spending most of my time working or being exhausted from work).Got a new job. 1k more a month, extremely secure and I can easily reduce my time down to 60%.Find a new Job (Lost my old one for health reasons)
Point one has never been brought up again by the other person, so it never went anywhere. Not gonna lie: I did non of these things so far. I was way more focused on a new Job and getting medical things in order.
- Got asked a while ago to make somebody I know a website and have some personal site ideas I want to develop
- Finally getting back to gamedev. Been eyeing the GBA in the past few months
- A Macro-Pad (think StreamDeck, but for 1/5th of the price) and potentially sell some

- My Sphinxes are well, but they certainly are a tougher cat breed to take care of.Things I didn't have on the list/my mind at the time:
- I bought two Kittens (Sphinxes).
- Started a YT Channel (first time I made it past single digits. It's tech / gaming realated and evergreen)
- Managed to get rid of a separate medical problem (somehowafter thinking about it, it might've been from server stress)
