Persona 3 is my favorite game in the series but I can't help but be skeptical they are able to do it justice.

No way it doesn't get toned down. And I fear it'll be changes that go beyond just localization, the Japanese version will most likely not be safe either.

They'll probably get rid of the female protag entirely which I'm fine with since she is not canon and I'm not interested in playing Persona as an otome game. Plus she seems to draw the most tourists.
Yeah they will probably change the fundamental gameplay as well since people always complained about it. Persona 3 has a unique identity of being more distant from your allies, making them more allies of circumstance rather than bffs from the start.
I've learned to not expect anything good from remakes, we've seen it happen so many times over the past few years. Of course we'll just have to wait and see but you can't be let down if you don't expect anything good in the first place, only positive surprises if you end up being wrong.
People always say the original is still there so you can just play that if you don't like the remake but why is it too much to ask for a remake without altering anything for "modern audiences" or dumbing down of gameplay elements? I'm not really one to care about fancy graphics, I'll gladly play the original again but I certainly wouldn't mind playing through my favorite games with updated graphics every once in a while.

Well the problem here is Atlus and Sega. Its not caving in if the company in question is filled with the same kind of whiny snowflakes.
ESG. (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is what finances a lot of the woke trash we see in entertainment or businesses in general. Businesses would like to get a good ESG score in order to get approved for financing by banks and investment funds. Its quite insidious in the same vein how payment processors are screwing with spicy content. Hence, why companies go full retard with the LGBT barbecue pandering and DIE policies. Naturally the companies being filled with retards that actually love that ESG slop isn't helping too.
So yeah while go woke go broke still applies its shit like ESG investment funds and Blackrock that have a loads of money to keep bankrolling their BS.
So some more information has come out regarding the Persona 3 Remake,
in an IGN interview, the producer and chief director states that they will only
be including content from the original Persona game, no additional content from FES or Portable.
Losing out on FES content hurts a lot considering all the features it brought to the game.
Also the entire voice cast has been replaced with new VA's

Wow I didnt know fes added so much. Also new va most certainly means new dialogue which probably will be used to "remove any problematic lines"

Considering everything left out of this remake, I wouldn't be surprised to see Atlus do yet another "enhanced rerelease" a few years down the line with stuff like The Answer, FeMC route, etc, added back in. People have been asking for a "definitive" version of Persona 3 for years, but this ain't it.
Small update, We might be getting some FES features in the remake after all
and what will be left in the chopping room will be story-related content like The Answer.
