Shilling games that should have more recognition.

Thanks to your gameplay video it reminded me of some other schmups. I would like to recommend Twinkle Star Sprites, the best way to describe this old game is sort of like Puyo Puyo but more in the shoot em up vein variety.

This video goes over it better on how to play through it and what it is, there is one that released on PS2 back in the day but never made it's way West. It's not hard to get around the menu's if you know basic Japanese and also it is a good Puzzle Schmup to play.

If you like Twinkle Star Sprites, you will also like Touhou Flower View and vice versa. Both games are just awesome and it makes me sad no one ever thinks to make more games like this.

I bought it myself and i am sad the other games are not on Steam, i keep holding out hope they can change the name and put on Steam much like Kara No Shoujo which the 2nd game was banned but then renamed the series to The Shell I,II and eventually III. Funny enough the publisher of the IP also has Dungeon Crawlers and also ports games over to JAST and i think on Switch as well. It would be a good idea to call it Dungeon Explorers EX 1 or something odd like that and try to get it on Steam if they can.
Hey, I haven't know about the first game, also looks very interesting. If we talk about TH, I can say I could clear them 1CC on normal (only 6-18, and TH2). Well, also ZUN's TH19 is a puzzle schmup! I don't know if you played it before.

Also for watching Blood-Over gameplay I can hardly recommend Udongein X (yup, a TH fangame for Reisen). It's a MMX like and also very entertaining, you don't get power-ups, sadly (which makes sense for Reisen), but the game is very well-done, recommended.

No I did not know about that puzzle schmup I put it on my wishlist just now. It looks cool. We do not get enough of those. I also played Soreyuke Baruyunyanman and I can say it was exciting, colorful and it had slo-mo segments with it. Although I am having difficulties finding the PC version and I am playing the PSP version on emulator.

bleach dark souls that game too is also pretty good
Oh, yeah, man! A friend and me managed to play it online some months ago, it was pretty fun, there's a method to use NWF-connection with MelonDS. Also you reminded me about the tactical RPG for the same console, Bleach: The 3rd Phantom:

It calls me to play it because you know... It's a Tactical RPG... and have a touch of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga, a game that I never finished and remember with such nostalgia these days...:

Recommending Dangeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition. Played it on RPCS3 and absolutely like it, the Japanese is not that hard to follow if you have been learning it for a few years and the menus are in English as is some of the other things. It's also on Vita and it works on Vita3k but it was hard to setup for me. I will also say that the combat is simple, easy and exciting, there is tons of extras and unlockables. It does make me wish they would release another edition in the West like they did the 1st Dangeki Bunko with the International Version.

I also forgot one key tidbit of information, this game was made by French Bread, the same guys behind Melty Blood from Tsukihime and the Remake version. They also have their own franchise called Under Night series (aka UNI) current one is Celes. But i will be trying to play the games myself to see if i would recommend it and shill it here. If someone else has played it let me know what you think of the series.

I just learned about castle panzers, the third game in the Genkai Tokki trilogy, I didn't even know Moero was part of the trilogy lol

It's stuck on PS4 on all places and in Japanese only and doesn't even have wiki entry. Really sad since it looks actually fun to play.

Also I heard Hinomaruko was supposed to be Senran's successor and it got cancelled...the future of ecchi games look quite bleak at the moment

Get Moekuri and Seven Pirates H on switch then and pray EAS/CH gets to do the same with Castle Panzers. And yeah Hinomaruko seems to have been cancelled.

Edit: Moekuri= meant Moero Crystal, apparently there is another game actually Moekuri and looks pretty cute on steam but I wasnt talking about that one lol.

Thanks to @Corrin2827 i played through Unfinished Dream Of All Living Ghost(Touhou Project #19) and i also played through Phantasmogoria Of Flower View(Touhou Project #9) due to Bearinstilts recommendation.

Unfinished Dream, i can definitely say that this is like Twinkle Star Sprites on Steriods in a good way. The game balance is amazing, the controls are absolutely smooth and i wish for more puzzle fighters like this in Touhou Games in the future. It also has some nice challenge, and the hitboxes are small and the difficulty is fair even on normal or hard. Lunatic is difficult and i will try to prepare for it down the line, but it feels more possible in this due to it being made in 2023 with better balancing. This is one i can recommend to newcomers as a gateway game to get into the Touhou universe and to become interested in Bullet Hells, it's not easy but it's not unfair either. Easily worth 15$.

Flower View, now this is a game i would say is really challenging unless you have experience with Twinkle Star Sprites and some other Bullet Hell games. It is oldschool and you only get 3 continues, with 2 lives and there will be a lot thrown in on the screen. The best advice i can give to anyone is to try and Cutback around when cornered, and to use your LVL 2 Moves at points to attack through the waves if you are going to get hit. LVL 3 and LVL 4 do send waves to your enemies. The last boss is one of the hugest challenges ever, and it took me 5 hours to finally get used to the game even to beat it on Normal difficulty, but it is very rewarding because it definitely will prepare you for a lot of other Touhou games of it's time it's also difficult but not impossible. One important thing to note is this game is very old and i did find out that it does not even support Xbox, Playstation controller support on Steam, it will however support generic controllers(3rd party, think of ones like PowerA, Hori, recently with PDP) on Steam so i used my PowerA controller and it worked like a charm. Also to help out to make sure it works with generic controllers you have to go to options
1. 1P
Switch Left, or right, full to [PAD1]
2. Go to 2P
Switch to [PAD2]
Then try to use your controller.

I will now be moving onward to other Touhou games sadly that are not splitscreen puzzle fighters down the road, more along the lines of Animism and Amanojoku Impossible Spell Card. But i will be heading into Touhou spin-off games, as these two took a lot out of me to beat and really made me appreciate Touhou as a whole.

Talking about the old Atlus, somebody recommended me this game recently, I played it a little bit and it's really fun:

Nora to Toki no Koubou: Kiri no Mori no Majo (Nora and the Time Studio: The Witch of the Misty Forest) for Nintendo DS has been developed and distributed by Atlus (Shin Megami Tensei, Trauma Center, Etrian Odyssey, Radiant Historia) in 2011 exclusively for Japan, it is an RPG that was created by the Etrian Odyssey team in collaboration with Shinichi Yoshiike, one of the most important developers of Gust and creator of the Atelier franchise, leaving his style in the game design and the mechanics of creating objects, also counting on the collaboration of Michiko Naruke, composer of Wild Arms, in charge of the soundtrack.

Edit: recommend playing it on melonDS, in console some animations gets stuck, but I wanna do more testings.

Too bad we'll never see that on the switch cause atlus too busy milking 3-5.

Will play this eventually:

It's not as well-known as other DB games, so I share it in case some of you guys didn't know it. Thank you for everything, Mr. Toriyama.

One of my all time favorite series that I never hear anyone talk about is Navel Ops: Warship Gunner. The original, 2 and even the tactics game are all fun and ridiculous in concept.

The original is probably the first time I saw an isekai. You play as a Captain of a vessel in WWII that somehow gets pulled into another world that's going through a similar war. You and your crew end up right in the middle of an engagement between two fighting factions and immediately start taking fire. Having no choice you follow the other fleeing ships and find out they're a Freedom Force fighting against the Empire. This is when the meat of the game starts.

It's definitely an arcade style of game, but has a robust ship building system where you get to customize pretty much every aspect of the boat. This isn't even getting into the high to fantasy technology that you get access to later on.

(Double hull battleship my beloved)

2 is a direct sequel to the original but takes place years later. I feel it has a much more compelling story line that even has branching paths based on how you handle specific missions.

The tactics spin off has a lot of the same features, but a definite downgrade compared to the other two.

The bad news is that since the Playstation store doesn't exist for the PS3 anymore, you can no longer get these games. Your only choice is to emulate the games, which run alright but do have some graphical issues.

The even worse news is that only one other game that plays like this series came out recently and it's covered is SBi equality requirements. The gameplay is almost identical to the original with ship building and going against crazy odds, but it's just pretty much ruined by inclusion.
