If you're talking about Mark Kern's #FreeStellarBlade campaign, I say we should let him go through with it. Trying to stop him would just be counterproductive.

Despite all our warnings, we can't change the fact that Stellar Blade fans already gave Sony their money when they bought a PS5, so we may as well let them leverage that fact by buying physical game copies and not updating them. I saw a lot of fans who - even if they didn't cancel their pre-orders - are at least cancelling their PS+ subscriptions in protest. It's not a bad idea.

Oh Im fine with that petition I even signed it myself. I was referrering to people choosing to outright cancel any pre-order or refusing to buy the game. I fear that doing so will give sony and other AAA companies an excuse to claim that this kind of games are not profitable and so refuse to give another potential dev, with a similar intention, the opportunity to release their game(yeah I know the smart move would be to not involve sony in the first place,but its not like steam and nintendo are that much better)

I agree that they never should've paid for it in the first place; the 'free games' and online functionality isn't worth it. But there is a tactical advantage by cancelling their subs right after the Stellar Blade censorship.

Yeah better late than never, but it just seems performative when they have been supporting Sony's censorship all this time until now. Plus they are just cancelling the auto renewal, it's not like refunding a game where you can't play it anymore, the subscription is still active until it runs out and then there is no guarantee they won't just renew it again.

Let them perform. What matters is they're spreading the anti-censorship cause, thanks to Mark Kern. This way, we'll at least have a 1% chance to fix Stellar Blade instead of 0.

Shift UP getting this censorship treatment not so surprising. This is the equivalent of a midsize developer bought up by EA and being surprised they would end up getting whored out. Only to be shot behind the shed when the IP isn't profitable anymore. Like bruh its EA you know what they do with developers. Making a fanservice game for Soyny who has screwed over other JP developers with retarded censorship rules. Don't be surprised if you get hit with said policies especially now in "current year".

Shift UP would not have been in this mess if they would have gone for a PC first release. Quite frankly any fanservice game in particular ones from Asian developers with a Soyny first release will always have that taint of being fucked with during development. The only way we can see if Shift UP didn't completely cucked to Soyny is with the PC release.

Purchasing anything and everything from a company is supportive to them, don't like them? Don't support them. The buyer has the responsibility to not support corrupt organizations that fail to meet the needs of their customer market base.

I was looking into cameras recently and in general I am not a boycott driven person. But Sony to me has become as bad as Nintendo, even worse because of their censorship.

Why not look into the competitor's of Sony in the camera market space? Nikon, Canon, and many others are excellent, if not better than Sony's camera's in multiple different regards.

Just something to say real quick. I think everyone should take advantage of this. Email and make social media posts with everyone in Sony and tell them to "Uncensor the game, move the HQ back to Japan, leave California. This would never happen in Japan" begin making posts like this and spread the word.

This will help Sony of Japan.

Can agree, it's the California HQ sabotaging Stellar Blade. They are trying to blame Shift Up for this. When the reality it's literally up to that branch whether something is censored or uncensored. I mean here is just other examples of how it's up to the California HQ and them sabotaging other games that have fanservice.
