I don't consume enough Japanese entertainment these days to justify such a huge investment of time, besides if every localization company turns into xseed I'll just play the originals using Visual Novel OCR.
The worst localization I've experienced in recent memory would probably have to be Tales of Hearts R. It's not chock full of memes or anything, but the dialogue is so far off from the original script that it's just depressing. Localization normally doesn't bother me that much, but I love the Tales series so this actually hurt a bit. Here are some examples.

I think I understand now, they change everyone's personalities to be as obnoxious as possible because that's what they are used to from their everyday life, which is why they think everyone here acts that way. No one takes anything seriously, cracks a retarded joke every other sentence and just generally acts rude as fuck.
It really is mind blowing how nearly every JRPG suffers the same fate with idiots who think they should rewrite every character's personality and make them "super quirky XD". At least the huge catalog of ruined games becoming playable is something to look forward to once I get to a good enough level of Japanese.

yea been seeing a lot of stuff from this new one and it looks horrible. tbf pokemon has been going downhill for years at this point but i think we have hit peak shit
considering all the other stuff I've seen like the fucken groomer lookin "students" and women built like Joe Rogan I would not be shocked if this was legit the line the dumb fucks over in game freak wanted. the whole game screams like it was made to fill out an ESG or whatever the fuck it's called checklist raver then design a proper game. most of the female characters are not even that lewdable or memorable in their designs. the whole game looks like bland slop
and dont forget this is the kinda shit both localizers and their defenders want. when you start to see more examples of dog shit come out of this game dont forget this is the kinda shit we are fighting to stop. as if they had their way they would want every Japanese dev to create their games to be like this. they want the devs to make the games like this from them so they dont have to put the work in to change shit.
