The quality of localziations like this, is the reason we are here in the first place.

Persona 5 is an interesting case as the atlus/sega games used to be held up as well translated until 5 came out when people on retardEra started complaining about it (despite also being high quality)
in retrospect this was obviously a hostile takeover to force good translators out and push in their friends and cronies
Lo and behold there were suddenly katrina tier localizers at sega messing with shit

Personally Im fine with them as long as they dont change meaning to words, use it to censor it or insert stupid unnecesary crap.

I dunno if I would call them well translated. A couple of examples of shit translation I am aware of is Junpei's nickname for Yukari in Persona 3 (he calls her Yukaricchi in the Japanese version, but the English version uses the completely made up nickname "Yuka-tan") and pic related from Persona 5 which is another complete fabrication.

I would call them shit for removing Japanese sound, and inserting probably the cast of VA for english barely above Chaos War quality. Poor Yukiko... Poor Yukiko voice. Whoever voiced her... Jesus christ you are atrocious.

That site for Persona 5 is bullshit, if I recall, it was made by people who cried that the game wasn't Westernized enough. Persona 5 did have translation errors and stiff reading, but in general Japanese language is pretty stiff. I'd be pretty much more worried about the script of Persona 5 Royal that recently got released, seeing as a certain mentally ill translator worked on the game.

I think Royal's script is pretty much the same aside from that scene with the gay men. Some of the more awkward lines like "Kamoshida was a scum" were reworded too.

Has anyone tried the Steam version of P5R? I already do have both OG P5 and Royal on my PS4 but I still want to try Royal on PC, however I am skeptical since I heard that one of the most infamous POS lolcowlizers somehow managed to get her ass into the team for the PC port and I smell the possibility of woke vandalism. If I am completely honest I am not even planing on buying it since as I said I already did buy the big edition for the PS4, I just want to know if it's even worth waiting for or should I just mark it as a loss and stick to the older PS4 version.

sadly not all of it but this thread points out there is a mod you can use to fix it. should not have to mod the game to fix it but at least its there

the interesting part is it seems the full yuri kissing was restored according to this. so maybe they are on the right track but I would not get ya hopes up

Yeah but having a mod to fix it doesn't make it worth supporting. That just shifts the burden of uncensoring a game onto the community instead of encouraging the dev to release an uncensored game in the first place.

I mean I kinda already said that people should not have to mod the game to fix it nor am I saying people should go out right now and dump the devs with money

all im saying wins a win. devs removed cringe localizor fuckery. sure it's not a complete victory but it's worth at least saying "ha. nice"
