Both UK (Airstrip One) and Australia are, undisputably, one of the WORST PLACES IN THE WORLD.
From what I remember they started crackin' cartoons and fictional depictions since mid 2015. I think RGE covered smth similar in late 2016, but the video is no longer available(he sometimes deletes his older videos). Apparently Airstrip One had a new law that not only cracked on this but also that a regular Bri'ish person can no longer delete their internet history cuz "muh fight against terrorism". They also banned certain types of porn (piss-porn etc.). That country is just authoritarian shithole at this point with no point of return.

In the Uk, we have anime stores and have anime cons every year until covid happened
I would say that we do get shit on with anime blu ray Collectors editions with most of them coming with shit well the US gets the goods ones
but in the passed year they have gotten a bit better.
I think the most lolicon manga I've read is no game no life but the Characters only thing showed sexual as the ass

Yeah and even those who have pedophile tendencies but are only consuming victimless fiction are way more prone to move to acutal CSEM when harmless outlets are criminalized.
If they have no easy access on the clearnet and are delving into criminal territory they move to the darkweb and get access to actual child abuse material. The mentality of "I'm fucked either way if they get me" is helping with that.
The same effect can be observed in countries where weed is illegal and strictly enforced.
Consumers still get their stuff but come into contact to more harmful substances and other criminal activity through dealers and other contacts from the underground.
The problem with this is that people can't think beyond their morals and emotional bias with those topics. If they for once sit down and think everything through on a purely logical base they should be able to determine that there is more benefit from legality than prohibition in both cases.
Yet if they realize they are wrong they often double down. People lost the ability to correct their opinions even if they know they are wrong.
Reporting fictional content is easier than report real life issue
