This is a funny case. Usually i would say it's just lolcalizer doing lolcalizing but Ageism is actually a thing in Japan. It's called Age Harassment (エイジハラスメント) and there was even a J-Drama about it (The main actress is hot). It's a term used to describe when older people uses their age as a factor to talk down to others. So if in this scene (Like a Dragon) someone is called out for Age Harassment then calling them an "Ageist" isn't the worst thing you can do as a localization (In the traditional sense, not current day sense). It still sounds dumb and isn't something a Yakuza would say, but the translation would be done out of incompetence and not malice. It's just that the well has been poisoned so much people are not willing to give them the benefit of the doubt anymore.

If someone could get a JP screenshot of this moment then i could check it. Would do it myself but got burned out from playing Yakuza 1-5 in the last couple months so i'm not gonna touch this game for a long time.

It's less about me being innocent and more about "Innocence until proven guilty". If you attribute all incompetence to malice then your outlook on life is gonna be pretty negative, since most people are kinda incompetent in most things. I've live long enough to see myself and other people doing many wrong/stupid things because we're humans, not because we're evil. If it's up to the mob then everyone would be cancelled, and we've been seeing that.

I just don't want our side to end up like theirs. Yes, lolcalizers have proven themselves to have malicious intent like 90% of the time. But what if this time, it's some kid who just got his first job? Since it's easy and quick enough to prove in this case, i did.

I thought it's the same here (context wise) but in conjunction with megane it actually means prejudiced huh. Thanks man, learned something new.
