I found a strange change in the BotW translation. The second choice here isn't "for someone special" in Japanese, it is "for my (future) lover".
I find it strange that they would alter this line as it gives some more depth to Link's character. From that one line we can infer that: a. Link is single b. He is hopeful to find love in the future, and c. He lies to people about having a lover. Meanwhile the English translation tells us nothing about Link. Maybe the translator didn't want him to sound like an incel or something.

That just might be why it was altered. Remember, the adventure log is changed to be written in 3rd person in English while it is actually Link writing those entries, including his thoughts and feelings.
For some reason they need Link to stay as the "silent, self insert protagonist" in the west instead of developing his character and giving him a personality.
