I was wondering the same thing. It reads a lot like the shit localizers did back in the day.

I don't know about all of them, but here's "Husband's Tears Series", it's the same as the original

I also checked "Gemstar Wife" and "Worthless Statue" on a jp wiki, they're the same

Honestly, the ONLY one I can excuse is the last one, since the ESRB has become stricter with references to gambling. Everything else is BS, though.

Well that's not exactly the same, but close enough I guess. I wonder if the Japanese Switch version is censored as well.

Honestly, the ONLY one I can excuse is the last one, since the ESRB has become stricter with references to gambling. Everything else is BS, though.

I don't know, they should just eat the higher rating imo. Precisely because they keep complying with it is why we don't get stuff like pantyshots anymore and all girls instead just wear spats or there's a black void under skirts.

I don't believe the ratings have anything to do with that, it's just an excuse. They only had an effect on Smash Brothers because Nintendo stupidly wanted the lowest rating possible.

It's like that old excuse that NISA used to use that if they released Mugen Souls etc. uncensored they would get an AO rating.
