"remake", "remaster" and "definitive edition" are all just synonyms for "castrated" now... At least some exceptions exist. Apparently the crisis core remake is clean, somehow. But I dread some of my favorite games getting "remade" nowadays, just like I dread VNs getting "localizations". There's a site doing mtl for untranslated VNs but they got a policy to not touch ones which already have a translation, even if that translation is a troonslation. Quite disappointing...View attachment 21834View attachment 21835View attachment 21836View attachment 21837

When fucking SQUARE ENIX can do you better in one scenario. What a fucking world"remake", "remaster" and "definitive edition" are all just synonyms for "castrated" now... I think the main problem is it's trying to use this to rewrite "problematic" things the original games had and trying to go for the Blue Ocean audience with safe gameplay mechanics and safe characters than going for the Red Ocean with the niches. Imagine if RE3R had Jill Valentine with her busty figure or DMC5 with Trish not looking too realistic and Lady having a bit more fanservice and looking closer to her CG's along with the Gameplay improvements that came with the game or even playing as the characters themselves as a bonus."remake", "remaster" and "definitive edition" are all just synonyms for "castrated" now... The main issue with this is it's not wrong to call out censorship and it's not wrong to say this is a bad thing that was in the original game was pulled. Shaming people because it's Fanservice using Strawman like CP is really dumb, and to only think of Gameplay has it wrong. Gameplay and Fanservice are both important. The fact the we are having the Treehouse version is not a good look. Then again it's Facebook and it's mostly the 40+ crowd that uses it. So it's not surprising.View attachment 21834View attachment 21835View attachment 21836View attachment 21837

The Xenoblade Reddit has more testosterone. Most the apologists got downvoted to Hell and people are making fun of folks who unironically use Chud.I think the main problem is it's trying to use this to rewrite "problematic" things the original games had and trying to go for the Blue Ocean audience with safe gameplay mechanics and safe characters than going for the Red Ocean with the niches. As for VN's I would say unless you are paying for the cheap VN's with the weird titles and weird localization that sounds like the cheap 10$ porn DVD's you would find at a smoke shop. You are usually in the clear. It's the only community left that still does have translation patches if anything messes up and it's easier to go through Ren'py than a full on Video Game. It's why Nukitashi despite it's awful base still has an improvement patch https://vndb.org/r109660 and others will try to add in missing Voices https://vndb.org/r101857
I would put my trust in JASTUSA as a main site for VN's if I am you, as they usually try to go mosaic free and do regional pricing. Mangagamer will always be secondary as it's usually more old-school 90's and 00's. Yes there is the lady that caused an uproar and was being dumb but overall they did get rid of the guy who messed up Fata Morgana by putting in Fragile Male Ego. I do avoid Sekai Project though as they hate loli and have a loud mouthed CEO.

I stopped joining online "communities" entirely since around 4 years ago. It feels like wherever I go, it's full of teens with their brainrot niggerspeak and skull emojis, who all feel like they're the same person, and even mentioning something that goes against the server's general direction will get you crucified. Lately I'm feeling this way about the EN-speaking side of the internet in general, except here and a couple other places. Perhaps it's time for me to try joining a community IRL instead, lol.
Be me just don't ever at all i keep saying this all the fucking time to stay the fuck away from fandoms at all times period.Honestly that's the issue of our time. Most kids just use Ebonics and think they are edgy or cool when most people north of 25 years old wish to not associate with them because it's dishonest and they like safe-horny down to safe edgy which makes them boring. It's a breakdown of Western Culture and Entertainment. Add in the fact they are more terminally online than any of us could ever be because they do not talk to people in real life and are too busy on social media. It's an oversaturation of fake fans who chase popularity than actually like the content.
I am also in places where everyone is 25 above or at least 24 years old. It's better to be with people who are older and past trying to be cool, defending mediocrity because somehow it hurts the ego because they are attached to IP's to see the problem, or fitting in. Because as you get older you just enjoy life and say what you feel because it's normal not everyone is going to agree with everything here and it's healthy to have back and fourth discussions anyways.

Is this how they treat the legacy of Akira Toriyama?talk bout lazy as fuck holy shit square isnt even hiding it anymore
A lot of these are actual N5-N4 level mistakes, does Crunchyroll even ask for any qualifications or are they just giving away jobs? Anyone putting actual effort on learning the language would have a better understanding of it in less than a year.Yakuza Fiancé: Raise wa Tanin ga Ii #6:

All Crunchyroll.
The normie audience those services are aimed at will consume either way, anime is no longer an otaku thing relying on teams of fan translators with audiences who actually want to engage with jp culture. They're doing the smart thing by keeping it sloppy, all things considered. It's cheaper and most viewers don't care either way.A lot of these are actual N5-N4 level mistakes, does Crunchyroll even ask for any qualifications or are they just giving away jobs? Anyone putting actual effort on learning the language would have a better understanding of it in less than a year.
What's most baffling is that despite clearly not being good at Japanese, the translator didn't even bother googling the definition of words to double check. Hell, even a proofreader that knows some basic Japanese could've caught that, but does Crunchyroll even have a proofreading process? How low are the quality standards for the largest "premium service" in the anime industry?

Good thing i never owned anything beyond the 1st collection. I swear Ace Attorney is a poster child when it comes to these awful translators that really like adding in things that do not exist and plagiarize everything. Some censorship and a random SJW term added to the localization of Gyakuten Saiban 6.

(talking about moving the big spring in the background)
Athena: It must have been hard with that small body of hers.
Apollo: Yeah, it's not easy for a girl to move this thing.
Apollo: Unless it's you.
Athena: That's uncalled for. I'm a little hurt.
